Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (360g) rolled oats (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup (40g) chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) maple syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) vegetable oil (or melted coconut oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (85g) dark chocolate chunks (good quality, roughly chopped)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Check your manufacturer's instructions.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped nuts, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In the same bowl, pour in the maple syrup (or honey), oil, and vanilla extract. Stir well to coat all the dry ingredients evenly.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
  5. Line the bottom of your air fryer basket with parchment paper (if using). Spread about 1/3 of the granola mixture in an even layer. Avoid overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 5-7 minutes, checking and stirring halfway through, until the granola is lightly toasted and fragrant. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  7. Remove the granola from the air fryer and spread it out on a baking sheet or plate to cool completely. It will crisp up as it cools.
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining granola mixture.
  9. Once completely cooled, store the air fryer chocolate granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
