Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (130 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90 g) unsweetened dark cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) baking powder
  • 1 cup (175 g) dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line the baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently stir in dark chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed.
  7. Spread the batter evenly into the lined baking pan.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
