Ingredients:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/4 cup (60ml) cold water
- 1 pound (450g) Bob Evans sausage, any flavor
- 1/2 cup (75g) finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup (75g) grated cheddar cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter to incorporate until the mixture resembles crumbs.
- Gradually stir in cold water until dough forms.
- Shape into a disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Bob Evans sausage, breaking it apart until browned and cooked through (about 8-10 minutes).
- Add chopped onion and cook until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in grated cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and thyme. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface until 1/8-inch thick.
- Cut into rectangles (about 4x6 inches) and place a spoonful of filling on one side.
- Fold over the dough, sealing edges with your fingers, and crimp with a fork.
- Place assembled rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Whisk the egg and milk together and brush over the rolls.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
