Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy based on preference)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 large egg

Instructions:

  1. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg and stir in the milk.
  3. Crumble the ground sausage into the bowl. Add shredded cheddar and Bisquick mix.
  4. Using a spoon or your hands, combine all ingredients until a sticky dough forms. The mixture should be moist but hold together when rolled.
  5. Pinch off golf-ball-sized portions and roll into smooth balls. Place them evenly spaced on the baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F / 71°C).
  7. Let sausage balls cool for 5 minutes before serving.
