Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground breakfast sausage (mild or spicy based on preference)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 large egg
Instructions:
- Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a large bowl, lightly beat the egg and stir in the milk.
- Crumble the ground sausage into the bowl. Add shredded cheddar and Bisquick mix.
- Using a spoon or your hands, combine all ingredients until a sticky dough forms. The mixture should be moist but hold together when rolled.
- Pinch off golf-ball-sized portions and roll into smooth balls. Place them evenly spaced on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F / 71°C).
- Let sausage balls cool for 5 minutes before serving.
