Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe avocados (about 450g total)
  • 1 medium lime, juiced (about 30ml)
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced (about 80g)
  • 1 medium ripe tomato, diced (about 150g)
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (about 30g)
  • Salt, to taste (approximately ½ teaspoon, or more if needed)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
  2. Dice the red onion and tomato, chop the jalapeño (if using), and cilantro.
  3. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados until creamy but still chunky.
  4. Add the lime juice, diced onion, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the mashed avocado.
  5. Stir the mixture gently to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Taste the guacamole and add more salt, jalapeño, or lime juice as needed.
  7. Transfer the guacamole to a serving bowl, garnishing with additional cilantro if desired.
