Ingredients:
- 4 cups chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 large eggs
- 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt, to taste
- White pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Pour the chicken or vegetable broth into a medium-sized pot and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Stir in sesame oil and soy sauce for added depth of flavor.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water, mixing until smooth. Add this into the broth to thicken slightly.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs until well blended.
- With one hand, use a ladle to create a gentle swirl in the broth while slowly pouring the whisked eggs in with the other hand, forming beautiful ribbons in the soup.
- Taste and season with salt and white pepper as desired.
- Ladle the soup into bowls, garnish with chopped green onions, and enjoy!
