Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Rhum Agricole (or Jamaican Pot Still Rum)
  • 1 oz Aged Jamaican Rum (e.g., Appleton Estate)
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 5 oz Orange Curaçao or Cointreau
  • 5 oz Orgeat Syrup (Almond Syrup)
  • 25 oz Simple Syrup (1:1 Sugar:Water)
  • Crushed or pebble ice for serving
  • Garnish: Fresh mint sprig and a lime wedge/wheel

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Glass: Fill your serving glass completely (Double Old Fashioned or Tulip Glass recommended) with crushed ice and set aside to chill thoroughly.
  2. Measure Ingredients: Add the Rhum Agricole, Aged Jamaican Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Orange Curaçao, Orgeat Syrup, and Simple Syrup into a cocktail shaker.
  3. Add Ice & Shake: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with high-quality ice cubes. Seal tightly and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds until the shaker is frosty cold, ensuring proper chilling and dilution.
  4. Prepare Serving Glass: Discard the chilling ice from your serving glass. Fill the glass with fresh, crushed or pebble ice.
  5. Strain and Top: Strain the mixture from the shaker directly over the fresh ice in the serving glass.
  6. Garnish: Gently 'spank' the mint sprig between your palms to release the aromatic oils, and place it into the drink next to the lime wheel garnish. Serve immediately.
