Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped (approx. ½ cup)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 soft sandwich buns
  • Optional toppings: diced pickles, shredded cheese, or sliced jalapeños

Instructions:

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  3. Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Mix in the chopped onions and sauté until transparent (about 3-4 minutes).
  5. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper.
  6. Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. While the filling simmers, toast the sandwich buns in a separate skillet or in the oven.
  8. Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, adding any optional toppings.
  9. Close each sandwich with the top half of the bun and serve hot.
