Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (approx. ½ cup)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 soft sandwich buns
- Optional toppings: diced pickles, shredded cheese, or sliced jalapeños
Instructions:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
- Once the beef is browned, drain excess fat if necessary.
- Mix in the chopped onions and sauté until transparent (about 3-4 minutes).
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, salt, and pepper.
- Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes to meld flavors.
- While the filling simmers, toast the sandwich buns in a separate skillet or in the oven.
- Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, adding any optional toppings.
- Close each sandwich with the top half of the bun and serve hot.
