Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
Instructions:
- Prepare the Peaches: Peel and slice the peaches. In a bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly. Set aside.
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients, and stir until just combined. The batter will be slightly lumpy.
- Assemble the Cobbler: Pour the peach filling evenly into the bottom of the greased baking dish. Spoon the dough mixture over the peaches, covering them partially.
- Bake: Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the dough comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving warm. Paired with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
