Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sherry vinegar
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, sherry vinegar, and brown sugar.
  2. Whisk in honey, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne (if using).
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
  5. Remove from heat. Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
