Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) ketchup
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) sherry vinegar
- 1/4 cup (50 g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- In a saucepan, combine ketchup, sherry vinegar, and brown sugar.
- Whisk in honey, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne (if using).
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer while stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors meld.
- Remove from heat. Let the sauce cool to room temperature, then transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before using.
