Instructions:

  1. Prep Ingredients: Cut the chicken into uniform 1-inch cubes. Wash and dry the broccoli florets thoroughly—dryness is key for crisping!
  2. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the chicken cubes with the soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, ginger, black pepper, and smoked paprika (if using). Toss well until every piece of chicken is lightly coated.
  3. Prep Broccoli: In the same bowl, toss the broccoli florets with the olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Load the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. For the best results, air fry in two batches, ensuring food is in a single layer.
  5. First Cook Batch: Place half the seasoned chicken and half the oiled broccoli in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  6. Shake & Finish Batch 1: Open the basket, give everything a good shake to flip the pieces, and return to the air fryer for another 6 to 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F/74°C) and the broccoli edges are tender-crisp.
  7. Repeat: Remove the first batch and repeat Step 5 and 6 with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Serve: Pile onto plates, sprinkle with sesame seeds and spring onions, and serve immediately.
