Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 wooden skewers or popsicle sticks
  • Cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Pat hot dogs dry with paper towels and insert a wooden skewer into each hot dog.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and optional mustard, then combine with dry ingredients.
  4. Transfer the batter to the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the batter from the fridge and dip each hot dog into the batter.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  7. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place corn dogs inside.
  8. Cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy, turning halfway through.
  9. Remove corn dogs from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before serving.
