Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 jar dill pickle slices
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Drain and pat dry dill pickle slices with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk to blend. Gradually add buttermilk and whisk until smooth.
- Refrigerate the batter for about 30 minutes to thicken.
- In a frying pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Dip each pickle slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
- Carefully lower battered pickles into hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
