Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 jar dill pickle slices
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Drain and pat dry dill pickle slices with paper towels.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Whisk to blend. Gradually add buttermilk and whisk until smooth.
  3. Refrigerate the batter for about 30 minutes to thicken.
  4. In a frying pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
  5. Dip each pickle slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  6. Carefully lower battered pickles into hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Transfer to a serving platter and enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
