Ingredients:

  • 2.5 lbs (1.13 kg) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (1 ounce/28g) packet dry Ranch Dressing Mix
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp (1.25 ml) black pepper
  • 8 ounces (227g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup (113g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions:

  1. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and pepper evenly over the chicken.
  3. Place softened cream cheese on top of the chicken. Pour chicken broth around the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours, or until chicken is easily shredded with a fork.
  5. Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks or shredding claws.
  6. Place shredded chicken back into the slow cooker.
  7. Stir in cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  8. Cover and cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
