Ingredients:
- 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
- 10 oz (283g) marshmallows
- 6 cups (170g) Rice Krispies cereal
- 8 oz (227g) dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup (30g) freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
Instructions:
- Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the mixture to firm up.
- Remove the chilled cereal treat from the pan and cut into bite-sized squares or use cookie cutters for Valentine shapes.
- Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently until smooth.
- Dip each bite into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place back on the parchment paper. Sprinkle with crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
- Let the chocolate set completely before serving. You can speed up this process by placing the bites in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
