Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons (85g) unsalted butter
  • 10 oz (283g) marshmallows
  • 6 cups (170g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • 8 oz (227g) dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup (30g) freeze-dried strawberries, crushed

Instructions:

  1. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the mixture to firm up.
  6. Remove the chilled cereal treat from the pan and cut into bite-sized squares or use cookie cutters for Valentine shapes.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently until smooth.
  8. Dip each bite into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place back on the parchment paper. Sprinkle with crushed freeze-dried strawberries.
  9. Let the chocolate set completely before serving. You can speed up this process by placing the bites in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
