Ingredients:
- 8 oz (225 g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Bring cream cheese and butter to room temperature.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter.
- Beat together on medium speed until smooth and creamy (2-3 minutes).
- Gradually add sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
- Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt, mixing on medium speed until well combined and fluffy (about 1-2 minutes).
- For a thicker icing, add more powdered sugar; for a thinner icing, add a bit of milk or cream.
- If you prefer a firmer icing, place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Use a spatula to spread the icing onto your cooled cakes or cupcakes.
