  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) pure maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 g) ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 tablespoon (7 g) coconut oil (optional, for creaminess)

Instructions:

  1. Pour the almond milk into a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat until warm but not boiling.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, maple syrup, sea salt, and cinnamon (if using) until well combined.
  3. Gradually stir in the cocoa mixture into the warm almond milk using a whisk.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and coconut oil (if using) until fully incorporated.
  5. Continue to heat, whisking gently, until everything is hot, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  6. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and enjoy immediately.
