Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz) of chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup of water
- ½ cup of vegetable oil
- 1 cup of store-bought frosting (vanilla or chocolate)
- 2 cups of chocolate melts or candy coating
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
- Lollipop sticks (optional)
- Styrofoam block (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and oil. Mix until well combined.
- Pour into a greased baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Once cooled, crumble the cake into a large bowl.
- Add frosting to the cake crumbs and mix until fully incorporated.
- Using your hands, roll the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch/2.5 cm).
- Place on a parchment-lined tray and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Microwave chocolate melts in short bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
- Dip lollipop sticks in melted chocolate, then insert into cake balls to help them adhere.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated.
- Place back on the tray and sprinkle with decorations before the chocolate sets.
- Allow the cake pops to set fully, either at room temperature or in the fridge.
