Ingredients:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • ½ cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of store-bought frosting (vanilla or chocolate)
  • 2 cups of chocolate melts or candy coating
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)
  • Lollipop sticks (optional)
  • Styrofoam block (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and oil. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour into a greased baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Once cooled, crumble the cake into a large bowl.
  5. Add frosting to the cake crumbs and mix until fully incorporated.
  6. Using your hands, roll the mixture into bite-sized balls (about 1 inch/2.5 cm).
  7. Place on a parchment-lined tray and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Microwave chocolate melts in short bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
  9. Dip lollipop sticks in melted chocolate, then insert into cake balls to help them adhere.
  10. Dip each cake pop into the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated.
  11. Place back on the tray and sprinkle with decorations before the chocolate sets.
  12. Allow the cake pops to set fully, either at room temperature or in the fridge.
