Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 1/2 cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and no lumps remain.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy and well-combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet base using a spatula. Mix only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough (about 2 tbsp per cookie) and place them 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are deep golden brown but centers look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to set.
