Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 3/4 cup (150g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (255g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and no lumps remain.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture looks glossy and well-combined.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet base using a spatula. Mix only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough (about 2 tbsp per cookie) and place them 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are deep golden brown but centers look slightly soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes to set.
