Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240 ml) Unsweetened Almond Milk (or water/coconut water)
- 1 teaspoon (5 grams) Chia Seeds (optional, for texture/fibre)
- ½ inch slice (1-2 cm piece) Fresh Ginger, peeled
- 2 cups (60–70 grams) Fresh Spinach, packed firmly
- ¼ medium (40 grams) Green Apple (Granny Smith), cored and roughly chopped
- 1 medium (100 grams) Frozen Banana, peeled and sliced into chunks
- ½ cup (80 grams) Frozen Mango Chunks
Instructions:
- Measure and pour the chosen liquid (Almond Milk/Water) into the blender jug. Add the chia seeds and the slice of peeled ginger.
- Firmly pack the fresh spinach into a measuring cup, then add it to the blender on top of the liquid. Add the chopped green apple chunks, ensuring they sit close to the blades.
- Place the frozen banana chunks and the frozen mango chunks into the blender. These dense ingredients should sit highest in the jug, helping to push the ingredients down onto the blades.
- Secure the lid tightly. Start blending on a low setting for 10 seconds to incorporate the ingredients, then immediately increase the speed to high. Blend continuously for 60 to 90 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and consistent.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add a tablespoon of liquid at a time and pulse briefly until the desired consistency is achieved. Pour immediately into a glass and serve straight away.
