Ingredients:
- 12 oz bag Fresh or Frozen Cranberries (rinsed)
- 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Fresh Orange Juice
- 1 teaspoon Orange Zest
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 whole Cinnamon Stick
- Pinch of Salt
Instructions:
- Combine the water, orange juice, granulated sugar, orange zest, cinnamon stick, and salt in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Stir in the rinsed cranberries.
- Return the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10–15 minutes. The berries will begin to pop.
- Continue cooking until about half the berries have burst and the sauce has thickened to your liking. Remember, it will thicken significantly upon cooling.
- Fish out and discard the cinnamon stick.
- Remove from heat. Pour the sauce into a heatproof container or jar. Allow it to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
