Ingredients:

  • 12 oz bag Fresh or Frozen Cranberries (rinsed)
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Orange Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Zest
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 whole Cinnamon Stick
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions:

  1. Combine the water, orange juice, granulated sugar, orange zest, cinnamon stick, and salt in a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring gently until the sugar is completely dissolved. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  3. Stir in the rinsed cranberries.
  4. Return the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10–15 minutes. The berries will begin to pop.
  5. Continue cooking until about half the berries have burst and the sauce has thickened to your liking. Remember, it will thicken significantly upon cooling.
  6. Fish out and discard the cinnamon stick.
  7. Remove from heat. Pour the sauce into a heatproof container or jar. Allow it to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
