Ingredients:
- 2 oz aged rum
- 0.5 oz orange curaçao
- 0.5 oz orgeat
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1 fresh mint sprig
- 1 cocktail cherry
- 1 lime wheel
Instructions:
- Pour the aged rum, orange curaçao, orgeat, and fresh lime juice into your shaker. Note: Adding the heaviest liquids first helps them mix better.
- Add a generous handful of ice cubes to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the shaker is frost covered and the liquid is icy cold.
- Fill your glass or Tiki mug to the brim with crushed ice. Note: Crushed ice chills the drink faster than cubes.
- Strain the mixture over the ice.
- Top the drink with a single dash of Angostura bitters on the surface until you see the dark droplets floating.
- Take your mint sprig and slap it firmly against the back of your hand to release the oils.
- Tuck the mint sprig, cocktail cherry, and lime wheel into the ice.
