Ingredients:

  • 2 oz aged rum
  • 0.5 oz orange curaçao
  • 0.5 oz orgeat
  • 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1 fresh mint sprig
  • 1 cocktail cherry
  • 1 lime wheel

Instructions:

  1. Pour the aged rum, orange curaçao, orgeat, and fresh lime juice into your shaker. Note: Adding the heaviest liquids first helps them mix better.
  2. Add a generous handful of ice cubes to the shaker.
  3. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the shaker is frost covered and the liquid is icy cold.
  4. Fill your glass or Tiki mug to the brim with crushed ice. Note: Crushed ice chills the drink faster than cubes.
  5. Strain the mixture over the ice.
  6. Top the drink with a single dash of Angostura bitters on the surface until you see the dark droplets floating.
  7. Take your mint sprig and slap it firmly against the back of your hand to release the oils.
  8. Tuck the mint sprig, cocktail cherry, and lime wheel into the ice.
