Ingredients:
- 2 cups (180g) Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
- 4 cups (960ml) water
- 1/4 tsp (1.5g) sea salt
- 1/3 cup (80ml) pure maple syrup
- 1 tbsp (12g) light brown sugar
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon
Instructions:
- Combine the rolled oats, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is mostly absorbed and oats are plump.
- Stir in the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
- Continue to cook on low for an additional 2-3 minutes until the texture becomes glossy.
- Remove from heat and let the oatmeal sit for 60 seconds before serving to allow the consistency to settle.
