Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (180g) Old Fashioned Rolled Oats
  • 4 cups (960ml) water
  • 1/4 tsp (1.5g) sea salt
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp (12g) light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Combine the rolled oats, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the liquid is mostly absorbed and oats are plump.
  4. Stir in the maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  5. Continue to cook on low for an additional 2-3 minutes until the texture becomes glossy.
  6. Remove from heat and let the oatmeal sit for 60 seconds before serving to allow the consistency to settle.
