Ingredients:

  • 4 fl oz Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice (Ruby Red recommended)
  • 1 fl oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 fl oz Agave Nectar (adjust to taste)
  • Pinch of Salt (for the base mixture, optional)
  • 8–10 fl oz Chilled Sparkling Water (high quality)
  • Ice, as needed
  • 2 tsp Coarse Sea Salt or Kosher Salt (for rim)
  • 1/4 tsp Grapefruit Zest (finely grated, for rim)
  • 2 Grapefruit Wheels or Wedges (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatic Salt Rim: Combine the coarse salt and grapefruit zest on a small, shallow plate and mix thoroughly. Run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass to dampen the edge, then gently press the rim into the salt mixture to coat.
  2. Mix the Paloma Base: In a cocktail shaker, combine the fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and the pinch of salt. Fill the shaker two-thirds full with ice. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and slightly dilute the mixture.
  3. Assemble and Serve: Fill the prepared glasses with fresh ice cubes. Strain the chilled Paloma base evenly into the two glasses. Top up the drinks immediately with the chilled sparkling water. Gently stir once or twice and garnish each glass with a fresh grapefruit wheel or wedge. Serve immediately.
