Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
- 1.5 pounds flank steak
- Salt, to taste
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and black pepper. If desired, stir in chopped cilantro.
- Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Season both sides with salt. Grill the steak for 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130-135°F (54-57°C).
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. Thinly slice against the grain to maximize tenderness.
