Ingredients:
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon (12g) sugar
- 1 teaspoon (4g) baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) salt
- 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) melted unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon (optional)
- Butter or oil for greasing the pan
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined (a few lumps are okay).
- Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the Darto pan or griddle over medium heat.
- Grease lightly with butter or oil.
- Pour about 1/4 cup (60ml) of batter into the pan for each cake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Stack the cakes on a plate and serve warm with your choice of toppings.
