  • 2 cups (480ml) water
  • 1 tablespoon (15g) unsalted butter or a splash of olive oil (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon (3g) salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed rice, water, butter, and salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover with the lid, and let it simmer gently for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it sit for an additional 5 minutes, removing the lid to allow steam to escape.
  6. Use a fork to fluff the rice gently and serve warm.
