Ingredients:

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 cups green beans, canned and drained or frozen and thawed
  • 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup, whole milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until the mixture is uniform and velvety.
  2. Fold the green beans and exactly 2/3 cup of the fried onions into the soup mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a 1.5-quart baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Remove from the oven and stir the bean mixture once. Top with the remaining 2/3 cup of French fried onions.
  6. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the onion topping is a deep mahogany brown and crispy.
