Ingredients:
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cups green beans, canned and drained or frozen and thawed
- 1 1/3 cups French fried onions, divided
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the condensed cream of mushroom soup, whole milk, soy sauce, and black pepper until the mixture is uniform and velvety.
- Fold the green beans and exactly 2/3 cup of the fried onions into the soup mixture until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into a 1.5-quart baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until the edges are bubbling and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from the oven and stir the bean mixture once. Top with the remaining 2/3 cup of French fried onions.
- Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the onion topping is a deep mahogany brown and crispy.
