Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (900g) frozen king crab claws, thawed
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Thaw the crab claws: place them in the refrigerator overnight or submerge in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the steamer: fill a large pot with about an inch of water and add salt. Bring to a soft boil.
  3. Steam the crab claws: place the thawed claws in the steamer basket and cover. Steam for 5-7 minutes, until heated through.
  4. Make the garlic butter sauce: in a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Stir in lemon zest and juice, and season with black pepper.
  5. Serve: arrange the steamed crab claws on a large platter and drizzle with garlic butter. Garnish with parsley if desired.
