Ingredients:
- 2 large russet potatoes (about 1 pound/450g), peeled or unpeeled, scrubbed clean
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (2.5 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (1.25 ml)
- Optional: Garlic powder, paprika, or your favorite seasoning to taste
Instructions:
- Cut the potatoes into even fries, approximately 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) to remove excess starch. Drain well and pat very dry with paper towels.
- In the same bowl, toss the dried fries with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings until evenly coated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd (cook in batches if necessary). Cook for 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the fries from the air fryer basket. Increase the air fryer temperature to 400°F (200°C). Return the fries to the basket (again, in a single layer) and cook for another 10-13 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Transfer the air-fried fries to a plate and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
