Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 8 slices of bread (challah, brioche, or Texas toast)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions:
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
- Dip each slice of bread into the custard mixture, soaking for about 10-15 seconds per side, ensuring it's saturated but not soggy.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place soaked bread slices in the skillet, being careful not to overcrowd. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add the remaining butter to the skillet and repeat with the remaining bread slices.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
