Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450 g) cod fillets (or other white fish like haddock or pollock)
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon (5 g) salt
- ½ teaspoon (2 g) black pepper
- ½ teaspoon (2 g) paprika
- 6 cups (1.5 liters) water
- ½ cup (120 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 lemon, juiced (about 2 tablespoons or 30 ml)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for serving)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine water, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Season the fish with salt, black pepper, and paprika evenly on both sides.
- Once the boiling mixture is ready, carefully add the seasoned cod fillets to the pot. Boil for about 8-10 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Gently transfer the boiled fillets to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned, if desired.
- Transfer the fish to a platter. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges. Serve immediately.
