Ingredients:

  • Long-grain white rice
  • Cold filtered water
  • Sea salt
  • Extra virgin olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Place the long-grain white rice in a fine-mesh strainer and rinse under cold running water for 60–90 seconds. Agitate the grains with your fingers until the water runs completely clear to remove excess surface starch.
  2. Transfer the rinsed rice into the Instant Pot stainless steel inner pot. Add the cold filtered water, sea salt, and extra virgin olive oil.
  3. Stir the mixture once to ensure all grains are submerged and none are sticking to the sides of the pot above the water line.
  4. Secure the Instant Pot lid and set the steam release valve to the 'Sealing' position.
  5. Select 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' on High Pressure and set the timer for 5 minutes (for standard long-grain white rice).
  6. Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before performing a quick release for any remaining steam. Fluff the rice with a silicone spatula or rice paddle and serve.
