Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (45g) quick oats
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1/8 tsp (0.75g) fine sea salt
- 1 tbsp (12g) dark brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp (15ml) pure maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp (0.5g) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) pure vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Combine the oats, liquid, and salt in a small saucepan.
- Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer and stir occasionally for 1–2 minutes until the liquid is mostly absorbed and the mixture thickens.
- Remove the pan from the heat to prevent scorching.
- Stir in the brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, and vanilla vigorously until the sugar crystals have completely melted into a smooth glaze.
- Cover the pan and let the oats sit for 2 minutes to allow the grains to fully hydrate.
- Stir one last time and transfer to a bowl.
