Ingredients:
- 1 ear of fresh corn on the cob, husk on
- (Optional) 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (15g)
- (Optional) Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Trim the silk and any excess husk from the top of the corn, if desired.
- Place the whole ear of corn, husk and all, directly into the microwave. No need to add water.
- Microwave on high for 3-6 minutes. Start with 3 minutes and check for doneness. Cooking time will vary depending on the power of your microwave and the size of the corn.
- Carefully remove the corn from the microwave using oven gloves or tongs. The corn is done when the kernels are tender and slightly juicy.
- Let the corn cool slightly. Holding it with oven gloves or tongs, carefully cut off the bottom of the corn with a knife and then pull the husk back from the top and remove the silk from the corn.
- Spread with butter (if using), season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve immediately.
