Ingredients:

  • 1 ear of corn, husk on
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened (optional)
  • Salt, to taste (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Trim the stalk end of the corn if desired.
  2. Place the corn on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high for 3-5 minutes, adjusting for your microwave's wattage.
  3. Carefully remove the plate and check if the corn is cooked by piercing it with a fork. The kernels should be tender. If not, microwave in 30-second intervals until done.
  4. Let the corn cool slightly (use oven mitts!). Carefully remove the husk and silk.
  5. Spread with butter (if using), sprinkle with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
