Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1 tsp (6g) kosher salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1 cup (115g) chopped walnuts
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together using an electric mixer on medium-high until light and fluffy, approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients on low speed, mixing only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate morsels and chopped walnuts by hand using a spatula until evenly distributed.
- Optional: Chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to prevent over-spreading.
- Drop rounded 1 tablespoon portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
