Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated white sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
  • 1 tsp (6g) kosher salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup (115g) chopped walnuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar together using an electric mixer on medium-high until light and fluffy, approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients on low speed, mixing only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
  6. Fold in the chocolate morsels and chopped walnuts by hand using a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Optional: Chill the cookie dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to prevent over-spreading.
  8. Drop rounded 1 tablespoon portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.
