Ingredients:
- 400g (14 oz) all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
- 340g (12 oz) lukewarm water (about 85-90°F / 29-32°C)
- 4g (1/2 teaspoon) active dry yeast
- 8g (1 1/2 teaspoons) fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for coating the bowl
- Pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, olives, etc.)
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Chili flakes (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, yeast, and salt.
- Pour in the lukewarm water and olive oil. Stir until just combined.
- Cover the bowl and let it rise at room temperature for at least 12 hours, or up to 24 hours.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Divide in half and shape into balls.
- Place each dough ball in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to the highest temperature with a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
- Stretch or roll out one dough ball and place it on parchment paper. Top with sauce, cheese, and toppings.
- Slide the pizza onto the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12-18 minutes.
- Let the pizza cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
