Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 3/4 cup (150g) packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated white sugar
- 1 large (50g) egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp (5ml) pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl. Stir vigorously with a spatula until smooth.
- Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract until the batter looks glossy.
- Sprinkle the flour, baking soda, and salt over the wet mixture. Gently fold together using a spatula until no streaks of dry flour remain.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are deep golden brown but centers look slightly underbaked.
