Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz.) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz. elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Add elbow macaroni, cooking until al dente per package instructions.
  3. Drain and set aside the macaroni.
  4. In the same pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  5. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  6. Incorporate minced garlic and diced bell pepper, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart and cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  9. Season with salt and pepper; bring to a simmer.
  10. Add the cooked macaroni, stirring to combine well.
  11. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
  12. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot.
