Ingredients:
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a 9x13 inch baking pan, stir together the sweetened condensed milk, first 1/2 cup of melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped pecans until they are evenly coated in the syrup.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the pecan mixture without stirring.
- Drizzle the remaining 1/2 cup of melted butter evenly over the cake mix, using a spatula to gently push the butter into any dry pockets.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Cover the pan loosely with aluminum foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes.
- Remove the foil for the final 5 minutes of baking to ensure the top is golden brown.
