Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1.5 to 2 pounds London broil (flank or top round steak)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, olive oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, black pepper, rosemary, and thyme. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place the London broil in a zip-top bag or shallow dish, cover with the marinade, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to overnight.
  3. Preheat the grill to high (about 450-500°F / 230-260°C).
  4. Remove the meat from the marinade, pat dry with paper towels, and let it come to room temperature.
  5. Place the meat on the grill, cooking for approximately 5 minutes per side for medium-rare, until internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C).
  6. Remove the meat from the grill, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
  7. Slice the meat against the grain into thin slices and serve.
