Ingredients:
- 1 large, ripe pomegranate
- Cold water
Instructions:
- Score the pomegranate: Using a sharp knife, carefully score the pomegranate around its 'equator' (horizontally) without cutting all the way through to the seeds.
- Fill a large bowl with cold water. Gently pull apart the pomegranate halves underwater to contain the juice.
- Working underwater, use your fingers to gently loosen and detach the arils (seeds) from the white membrane (pith).
- The arils will sink, the pith will float. Skim off and discard the pith.
- Drain the arils: Gently pour the arils and water into a colander to drain. Enjoy immediately or store.
