Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) thinly sliced cooked roast beef
- 4 ounces (115g) Gouda cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 package (14.1 ounces/400g) all-butter puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon milk or cream
- Everything bagel seasoning, flaky sea salt, or poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, gently combine the roast beef, shredded Gouda cheese, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and parsley (if using). Mix until well combined. The combination of savory roast beef and gouda cheese is the star of this recipe.
- On a lightly floured surface, unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. Roll it out gently to slightly enlarge it, aiming for a rectangle approximately 12x16 inches (30x40cm).
- Evenly spread the roast beef filling over the puff pastry sheet, leaving a ½-inch (1cm) border on all sides.
- Starting from one of the longer edges, tightly roll the puff pastry into a log. Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to trim the ends and cut the log into 8 equal rolls.
- Place the rolls onto the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk/cream. Brush the tops of the rolls with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle the rolls with everything bagel seasoning, flaky sea salt, or poppy seeds, if desired. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the pastry is puffed. These savory roast beef and gouda rolls should look delicious!
- Let the rolls cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.
