Ingredients:
- 1 large head of broccoli (about 1.5 lbs / 680g), cut into florets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (about 1 teaspoon)
- ½ teaspoon salt (2.5ml)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper (1.25ml)
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15ml), freshly squeezed (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Wash and dry the broccoli florets thoroughly. Ensure they are dry for optimal roasting.
- In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Ensure the broccoli is evenly coated.
- Spread the broccoli in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding. Use parchment paper for a mess-free experience.
- Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender-crisp and slightly charred around the edges. Turn halfway through for even browning.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with fresh lemon juice (if using). Serve immediately.
