Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick or 113g) Unsalted Butter, softened to cool room temperature
- 8 ounces (226g) Full-fat Cream Cheese, softened to cool room temperature
- 3 to 4 cups (360g to 480g) Powdered Sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together on medium speed until completely smooth, light, and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes). Ensure there are absolutely no lumps remaining; the mixture should look homogenous.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and salt until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl thoroughly with a rubber spatula.
- Reduce the mixer speed to low. Add the sifted powdered sugar one cup (approx. 120g) at a time, allowing each addition to fully incorporate before adding the next.
- Once all the sugar is added, increase the mixer speed to medium-high. Beat for an additional 2-3 minutes to incorporate air, making the frosting light, fluffy, and able to hold a soft peak.
- If the frosting is too soft, cover and chill for 30 minutes before using. If it is too stiff after chilling, add a splash (1 teaspoon) of milk or cream and beat briefly to soften.
