Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter, softened (227g or 8oz)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour, plus more for dusting (250g or 8.8oz)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (200g or 7oz)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat well!
  2. Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This will prevent the cookies from spreading too much during baking.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes.
  6. Place the cut-out cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about ½-inch space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Watch them carefully, as they can burn quickly.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Decorate as desired.
