Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) Unsalted Butter, softened (227g or 8oz)
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour, plus more for dusting (250g or 8.8oz)
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar (200g or 7oz)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat well!
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This will prevent the cookies from spreading too much during baking.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes.
- Place the cut-out cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about ½-inch space between each cookie.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. Watch them carefully, as they can burn quickly.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Decorate as desired.
