Ingredients:
- 1 (12-ounce) package fresh or frozen cranberries (340g)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar (150g)
- ½ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed (120ml)
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger (about a 1-inch piece)
- ¼ cup water (60ml)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, water, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the cranberry sauce cool completely. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature.
