Ingredients:

  • 1 (750 ml) bottle dry red wine (such as Rioja or Cabernet Sauvignon)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) brandy
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup (240ml) cranberry juice
  • 2 clementines, peeled and sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 apple (such as Honeycrisp or Gala), cored and chopped
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 3 star anise
  • Orange slices, for garnish
  • Rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Slice clementines and chop the apple.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and simple syrup (if using).
  3. Add the sliced clementines, chopped apple, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and star anise to the pitcher.
  4. Stir well to combine. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, add cranberry juice. Stir gently. Serve chilled, garnished with orange slices and rosemary sprigs (if using). Enjoy your spiced cranberry & clementine winter sangria!
