Ingredients:
- 1 (750 ml) bottle dry red wine (such as Rioja or Cabernet Sauvignon)
- 1/2 cup (120ml) brandy
- 1/4 cup (60ml) orange liqueur (such as Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) simple syrup (optional)
- 1 cup (240ml) cranberry juice
- 2 clementines, peeled and sliced into rounds
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 apple (such as Honeycrisp or Gala), cored and chopped
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 star anise
- Orange slices, for garnish
- Rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Slice clementines and chop the apple.
- In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, and simple syrup (if using).
- Add the sliced clementines, chopped apple, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, and star anise to the pitcher.
- Stir well to combine. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, add cranberry juice. Stir gently. Serve chilled, garnished with orange slices and rosemary sprigs (if using). Enjoy your spiced cranberry & clementine winter sangria!
