Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200g) fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 strip of orange zest
- 2 ounces (60ml) gin (or vodka)
- 1 ounce (30ml) fresh orange juice
- 1.5 ounces (45ml) spiced cranberry rosemary simple syrup
- Orange wedge and rosemary sprig, for garnish
Instructions:
- Combine cranberries, water, sugar, rosemary, cinnamon stick, cloves, and orange zest in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar is dissolved and the cranberries have burst.
- Remove from heat and let steep for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jar, discarding the solids. Let cool completely.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Pour in the gin (or vodka), orange juice, and spiced cranberry rosemary simple syrup.
- Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously until well-chilled (about 15-20 seconds).
- Strain the cocktail into two chilled cocktail glasses.
- Garnish with an orange wedge and a sprig of rosemary.
