Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (200g) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup (240ml) water
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 strip of orange zest
  • 2 ounces (60ml) gin (or vodka)
  • 1 ounce (30ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1.5 ounces (45ml) spiced cranberry rosemary simple syrup
  • Orange wedge and rosemary sprig, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Combine cranberries, water, sugar, rosemary, cinnamon stick, cloves, and orange zest in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring until sugar is dissolved and the cranberries have burst.
  3. Remove from heat and let steep for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean jar, discarding the solids. Let cool completely.
  5. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  6. Pour in the gin (or vodka), orange juice, and spiced cranberry rosemary simple syrup.
  7. Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously until well-chilled (about 15-20 seconds).
  8. Strain the cocktail into two chilled cocktail glasses.
  9. Garnish with an orange wedge and a sprig of rosemary.
